Fasting and Abstinence

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are obligatory days of fasting and abstinence for Catholics.  In addition, Fridays during Lent are obligatory days of abstinence from meat and meat products.
The norms on fasting are obligatory from age 18 until age 59. When fasting, a person is permitted to eat one full meal. Two small meals may also be taken, but not to equal a full meal. The norms concerning abstinence from meat are binding from age 14 on wards.

Tuesday, March 19, 2019
from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at St. James the Greater

Once again, the whole Archdiocese of Cincinnati will participate in this opportunity for the sacrament of Reconciliation.
Both of our priests will be hearing confession at this time as part of the annual "Light Is On For You". This is a great opportunity for those who have been away from the Sacrament of Reconciliation for a long time to confess. All parishes in the Archdiocese of Cincinnati have scheduled confessions for this evening, many from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
